A successful cycling Civic Engineer!

Huge congratulations to London Director, Gareth Atkinson who, on Tuesday afternoon completed the Club Peloton 1500km Cycle to MIPIM.

Over 6 days, alongside almost 200 other riders, Gareth spent up to 12 hours a day in the saddle making his way from London on the Folkestone peloton to the South of France.

The last legs to their arrival in Cannes saw hours of uphill cycling and windy conditions but thankfully the sun shone as the Folkestone and Portsmouth pelotons came together and made their arrival into the town. There were some relieved, tired faces and definitely some aching legs but there was a huge sense of achievement and a lot of talk of the camaraderie amongst all those who took part.

As part of the cycle, Gareth pledged to raise £3000 for children’s charity Coram. It looks like Gareth has smashed this target thanks to the amazing support he has received from family, friends, colleagues, clients and collaborators. In particular, thanks must go to those companies who sponsored Gareth and appeared on his specially produced cycling jersey. So it’s a big thank you to Bluebeam, B&K Structures, Leyton, Academy Consulting, REC Ltd and Handlesbanken UK.
