Isla Jackson, one of our Glasgow Studio Directors was invited to speak to students by Glasgow Caledonian University Engineering Society. As a Director, Isla’s role is hugely varied, obviously there are the engineering elements you would expect but there are also the management and financial elements that are often more unfamiliar to engineers. Isla therefore decided to speak on the topic of ‘Managing Engineering.’ She discussed the importance of Leadership and Management within Engineering and also shared her own career highlights and milestones, all with the aim of providing some insight for the engineering students on the different ways a career in engineering can progress into a business management or leadership role. The students then asked questions on the different paths that their career’s might take.
