London Studio Summer Drinks 2018

The sun shone as we threw open the doors to our riverside London Studio and welcomed many clients, collaborators and friends for our London Studio Summer Drinks party. Over 85 people turned up to the home we’ve been in since last November which has breathtaking views onto the Thames, over to the Tower of London and down to Tower Bridge. Even a superyacht or two decided to moor up nearby! The event gave us the opportunity to show people round our studio and give them an idea of how we work and where we’re based. The London team had also put together an exhibition of some of their most recent work and projects across the Practice in our meeting room and exhibition space downstairs.

London Director Rob Westcott welcomed everyone and updated them on London activity whilst Founding Director Stephen O’Malley talked about the Practice overall and some of the work taking place in our Leeds, Manchester and London studios. We were lucky enough to be joined by our Guest Speaker Sam Hunt, Creative Director for London’s first ever Borough of Culture 2019, Waltham Forest. Sam told us a bit more about the Mayor of London’s cultural initiative and his previous experience leading the creative programme for Hull’s year as City of Culture in 2017. He also shared his thoughts on the crucial role engineers and the built environment sector in general play in helping to make cultural initiatives a success.

Thanks to everyone who joined us on the evening. You can take a look at all the pictures from the night at
