Iain McIntyre

Director

I’m a Chartered Civil Engineer with almost 40 years’ experience in the property industry. I am also a Chartered Environmentalist, bringing my experience of environmental sustainability to development and regeneration projects. My project experience is spread across a variety of property sectors, including commercial, retail, education, healthcare, residential, industrial, airports, industrial, masterplanning and infrastructure.

In my career before joining Civic, I worked initially as a graduate with Glasgow City Council, then a senior engineer Crouch Hogg Waterman, which merged with Halcrow Group in 1997, where I spent 15 years as a director developing, shaping and managing a building structures team. I am an accomplished communicator with a track record in motivating and steering project teams towards successful goals.  I am accustomed to challenging the norm in a constructive fashion, thereby adding value to any project.

In my spare time I enjoy live music and I like to “discover” new talent before they become famous, such as Amy Winehouse, Paulo Nutini and Adele, all of whom I was lucky enough to see at tiny local venues when they were virtually unknown.  I also am a hobby bassist in various band line-ups, and over the years I have played with several property industry rock and blues bands, and I have also featured in various jazz combos and big-bands in Scotland.
