I’m Mark, I’m from Halifax, and I was given the opportunity to join Civic Engineers as a Graduate Structural Engineer. I graduated from the University of Salford in 2015, with a Masters in Civil and Architectural engineering. I joined Civic as the projects they work on are very varied, and I wanted to work on a diverse range of assignments, each with their own unique challenge.
If I am not listening to music, in my spare time I enjoy climbing, playing golf and watching sports such as rugby. One of my less manly hobbies includes watching the Great British Bake Off and having a crack at the odd recipe or two.
I also enjoy travelling, and most recently I travelled to Peru and visited Machu Pitchu. Some of the other places I have visited are Canada, America and Russia.
The designs created by Norman Forster have provided me with inspiration throughout my time both at school and at university. This inspired me to undertake a career in structural design. The documentary that portrays Foster’s career is very special to me as it continues to inspire me every time I watch it.
