Raphael Leas

Design Engineer

I have been a part of Civic Engineers since graduating in 2013 with a Masters in Structural Engineering. I have been involved in a wide range of projects, in broadest terms structural engineering projects to public realm developments, ranging from large mixed use new builds to playgrounds. Civic has given me knowledge of the whole construction industry and the variety of work has kept me entertained and helped me develop as an engineer.

Outside of work I like to climb, attempt to play instruments with my friends and travel. This year I have managed to visit Japan, Vietnam and a few places in Europe.

An inspiration to me throughout my life has been my great uncle Alfred Eisenstaedt who was a famous photographer for Time Magazine, commonly known for the photograph of the sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square (the sailor was on a date with another woman at the time, so not so romantic)
