Three Civic Engineers at MIPIM

Day 3 and the Cannes sunshine is still with us and there’s a busy day ahead.

Looking back at the end of Day 2, we welcomed our third Civic Engineer Paul Morris, on what is his first trip to MIPIM. The afternoon was spent in meetings with architects and looking at the various exhibitions. There was also an opportunity to catch up with Citu, one of our clients. Gareth then went to a wine tasting event hosted by a firm of solicitors at their house they have rented for MIPIM. The evening was spent at a drinks reception on board a boat in the marina where it was great to see some familiar people and also meet a number of new contacts. Meanwhile, Stephen represented Civic Engineers at the Manchester dinner.

Today, we have had a couple of meetings with some Project Managers we work closely with and an Architect whom we hope to do more work with, particularly in Leeds. Stephen has done the first of his presentations today which took place on the Leeds City Region stand. Alongside Hawkins Brown, he spoke about the fantastic Rutland Mills project. We are structural engineers on this amazing redevelopment of the Grade 2 listed mill buildings. After a networking lunch with Forcia, it’s now time to get ready for our key presentation which focuses on the vision and best practice of Delivering Healthy Cities. This takes place at 1630 (1530 GMT) in the Manchester Pavilion. If you’re not in MIPIM you can watch the live stream via manchesteratmipim.com.
