Topping Out at Exeter College, Oxford

This weekend saw the topping-out ceremony at the new Cohen Quad building for Exeter College, Oxford.

This is the culmination of 4 years work from 2011 when the design competition was won by the team led by Alison Brooks Architects, and for which we are the Structural and Civil Engineer.  The £25m development includes an auditorium, cultural and dining facilities, 90 student rooms, fellows’ suites, and new teaching facilities.  It is a bold re-working of the existing site occupied by Ruskin College, with the original 1912 building being re-constructed within its historic front facades.
