Get Drawn In – Festival of Place

With less than 2 weeks to go, we’re very much looking forward to this year’s Festival of Place.

Taking place at Tobacco Dock on Tuesday, 12th October, we’re proud supporters of the Festival as we believe it provides a platform to collaborate and talk about the things that are at the heart of Civic Engineers; about how we design and develop places that make a positive social, environmental and economic impact, putting citizens first.

As always, there’s an action packed agenda for the day with a diverse range of speakers and topics so we can learn and be inspired. We’ll be contributing to that agenda with an interactive  afternoon session at 245pm in ‘The Local,’ when we’ll be going back to basics as we invite everyone to sketch out the future of high streets and town centres.

The session titled, ‘Get Drawn In!’ will see you grab your pencil and paper and work collaboratively to draw up your own vision of what best design practice looks like. We’ll guide you through the basic engineering principles that make places safe, enjoyable and sustainable. This session is suitable for everyone, it doesn’t matter whether you feel you can sketch or not, or whether you are skilled in design. If you’ve seen a street before, you’re qualified! Most importantly, we promise it’ll be fun!
