We are looking for a talented and experienced Design Level Structural Engineer who is working towards chartership, to join either our Manchester Studio, to help support a growing team of engineers.

You will be contributing to the delivery of a variety of interesting and challenging building projects throughout the UK, across a range of sectors including residential, education and commercial development and regeneration.  You will have the opportunity to work alongside industry experts and high profile private and public-sector clients and collaborators.

Technical

  • Engineering design and analysis
  • Assessing problems using qualitative and quantitative measures

Your role will be primarily focused on maintaining our project management system Rapport3 and the Practice’s Integrated Management System.
The role would suit an industrial placement student or person looking to undertake a relevant business management/economics/or relevant qualification.

Your day-to-day responsibilities
Project Administration/Rapport3

  • General Rapport3 administration such as inputting client information, contacts, employee details

Senior Structural Revit technician

A talented and enthusiastic project based  Senior Structural Revit Technician to work within our Manchester Studio, working with the Directors of the Practice and a team of Civil, Structural and Transport Engineering Consultants.

The ideal candidate will  be hands on and have a real passion for creating BIM models and have experience of, working within a similar type of business – preferably one which operates within the built environment.

You will be collaborative and helpful and enjoy  being part of a creative team that wants to make a positive impact to the built environment.

Enthusiastic and friendly you’ll be able to demonstrate, through your past experience, excellent  graphical communication and strong IT and software skills. In particular you will be proficient in both Revit and AutoCAD. Knowledge and understanding of the CDM Regulations 2015 will also be key. In addition, you will have experience of project deadline management.

Here’s what you can expect to be doing:

  • Civil and/or Structural engineering BIM modelling and CAD using Revit and/or Autocad

IT Service Desk Technician

Location – Remote Working with travel to all 4 Studios

Due to significant growth, we are now looking to enhance our IT Service Management team, providing IT administrative and technical support to our 100 strong engineering and support teams and maintaining our computing infrastructure
across our four engineering studios.

We are looking for a team player who is curious, collaborative, helpful, ingenious and passionate about IT service management. Working together with the Head of IT, you’ll be shaping business processes within IT Service Management,
undertaking projects to streamline existing practices using a combination of the Service Desk portal, SharePoint, and automation tools. As an IT Service Desk Technician, you’ll need to combine strong analytical skills and problemsolving abilities with excellent interpersonal skills; which are crucial to reconciling the sometimes contrasting needs of management, technical personnel and end-users. You will need the ability to communicate complex concepts and ideas easily to the wider business and have the ability to work as a team player, particularly in communicating and supporting other team members.

Working within a small team, you’ll have a keen eye for detail seeing where a process can be improved once it has been resolved for an end user either by documenting how it was fixed after resolution; or using automation tools to make it faster for next time. We’ll also expect you to keep up to date with latest technology developments and where appropriate, how we can best leverage its capabilities for Civic Engineers.

Your responsibilities:
Technical

  • Receiving, prioritising, dealing and escalation of tickets received via the Service Desk, Keeping stakeholders up to date with the progress of service requests
  • Liaising with 3rd party software vendors as and when required for escalation of Service desk tickets via email and phone
  • Reviewing and maintaining the Service Desk knowledge base articles
  • To work with the Head of IT to determine IT objectives that will improve business outcomes
  • Working with studios and colleagues to ensure effective operation of all IT systems, travelling to our studios to provide support where necessary.
  • Asset Management of our computing estate

Experience/Qualifications Required:

  • 2+ years prior experience in a Helpdesk role within a team required
  • ITIL Foundation certificate in IT Service Desk Management or similar required for this position
  • Experienced with Office 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, InTune, Azure AD)
  • Experienced with administration of Windows 10, Windows Server, and Mac OS operating systems
  • Experienced in PowerShell
  • Prior experience using a ticket management platform
  • Fundamental computer networking knowledge (addresses, subnets, VPNs)
  • Maintaining IT Knowledgebase articles
  • Full driving license – available to travel between our office locations (In line with government guidance) by car or train
  • Remote position, but commutable distance to our studios (Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, London)

Additional desirable skills & experience bonuses:
