Northern Power Ride Progress

Manchester Director, James Bruce is on Day 2 of the inaugural Club Peloton Northern Power Ride, that will see 72 riders from across the property and construction industry cycle from Newcastle to Manchester to raise funds for charities, Coram and Crisis.

Day 1 saw the peloton complete over 100 miles in tricky conditions with strong headwinds. By the end of the day, they had done over 8,500ft of climbing and had spent over 8 hours in the saddle. Starting at 7.15am, they arrived in Harrogate eleven hours later at 6.15pm. James commented that he had a brilliant day and although he has previous cycled longer distances, getting used to riding as part of the Peloton took the most getting used to. He was also loving the cake stops, the food and the opportunity to get to know new people from within the industry.

Day 2 has been another early start with the Peloton making its way from Harrogate starting at 715am and hoping to finish in Heaton Park, Manchester at around 4.30pm. With 130km to go, the riders have spent the morning working their way through driving rain, fog but the locals have been cheering them on their way. The latest from James was that they had reached a mountain summit where they were stopping for lunch, blue skies had appeared and chips appear to be on the menu! 60km to go until the finish!
