Place NW COP26 Podcast – How engineers can maximise sustainability in development?

As we’re in the second week of COP26 and the themes turn to loss, adaptation, gender, transport, cities, regions and the built environment, they are all areas in which engineers collaborating to find solutions and to maximise sustainability are key.

As part of the Place North West COP26 podcast series, our Manchester Directors, Paul Morris and James Bruce sat down with Deputy Editor, Julia Hatmaker to discuss the role engineers can play and why their part is crucial.

Take a listen Place North West | COP26 | How can engineers maximise sustainability in development? as Paul and James discuss current projects they are working on including Mayfield Park, Citu’s Climate Innovation District and the conversion of Manchester’s mills. They also talk about how, if included at the outset of a project, engineers can play a key role in helping to maximise sustainability goals, prioritise a ‘Retrofirst’ approach and help impact true behavioural change.
