Axiom – Castleford Tigers Community Stadium
We have worked with the client since 2013 to develop economic infrastructure strategies for this 105-acre greenfield site located at junction 32 of the M62 and assist in securing outline planning permission for a multi-use development.
Part of this is a 10,000 capacity Community Stadium, with associated coach and car parking for Castleford Tigers.
The stadium is a structural steel frame supporting precast concrete terrace and floor units with a cantilevered gullwing roof. It will be constructed on a prepared platform completed under an infrastructure enabling works contract. Due to the depths of fill material foundations will be piled with associated concrete pilecaps and ground beams. The gables of the stands will be designed to facilitate corner infills to provide an additional capacity of 2,000 taking the total capacity to 12,000.
