Tackling the Forcia Building Life Cycle

London Directors Gareth Atkinson and Rob Westcott recently participated in the 5th Forcia Building Life Cycle. The event has become one of the most anticipated Property Industry Networking Events and the number of cyclists has jumped from 150 to 200. Teams of four cover a 77km course in the Sussex Downs, with each team following the prescribed route, starting together, hitting two checkpoints together and finishing together. Joined by Tim Lynch from Hopkins Architects and Stuart Wilks from Limeslade, they tackled the challenging route proudly shaving 4 minutes off their 2018 time and finishing an impressive 10th with a time of 2hrs and 45 minutes.

Whilst the course is pretty tough, plenty of hills to test those legs, the emphasis of the day is on fun and the glorious September sunshine certainly helped. There was plenty of time to catch up with colleagues from all areas of the building including clients, designers, other engineers, project managers and funders.  Congratulations to the Cousins & Cousins team who won the award for Best Overall Team.

The riders have also raised funds for The Lighthouse Club, a charity which provides emotional and financial support to the construction industry and their families.  A very relevant and worthwhile cause for all the cyclists to contribute to!
