I joined Civic in February 2020 and work from the Leeds studio. I am a civil engineer originally from Venezuela where I graduated at the Catholic University (UCAB) in Caracas. During and after completing my degree I worked for in two hydraulic engineering consultancies, where I was involved in urban drainage and flood control on rivers and canals and a bit of building M&E installations. This combined with periods when I was working on site managing construction works of retaining structures and drainage.
I moved to Leeds in 2014 with the plans of practice my profession. During this time, I worked in two engineering consultancies being involved on appraisals, feasibilities and detail designs on small and large residential developments and commercials sites.
What most catches my attention about joining Civic were the application of the concepts of sustainable development and environment on redevelopments of existing sites and the diversity and relevance of the projects that the company is involved with.
Out of work I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I have an active lifestyle and I use my spare time swimming, cycling, and running. I have completed some triathlons in the past few years. I am a football fan as well, AC Milan is my team.
This is a view from Caracas and is as clear as this almost every morning. The mountains form part of the Avila National Park which separates the valley from the Caribbean coast. The Avila on the left with an hotel at the top, in the centre La Silla (the saddle) and to the right Pico Naiguata’ which reaches 2,765m above the sea level.
