Senior Structural Engineer

I’m a Leeds University Masters graduate and have worked as a structural engineer for 7 years. I have always had a passion and aptitude for Maths and problem solving which naturally led me to study Civil and Structural Engineering.

Having spent 2 years following my graduation in Devon I returned to Yorkshire in 2014. Living and working on the coast in Devon I worked on a number of projects at the dockyard Naval facility, Plymouth University and the Met Office in Exeter as well as designing the alterations to the revamped Isles of Scilly airport. Since moving back to Yorkshire I have designed a broad range of structures including wind turbine bases, multi storey steel frames, retail parks, train station extensions and refurbishments, care facilities and industrial frames.

I like to set myself a challenge or goal each year and this year I entered the AJ Bell Sprint Triathlon in the spring. It was a fantastic experience swimming, cycling and running alongside my group and the more serious athletes, the encouragement and positivity on the day was a great motivator. Crossing the finish line in my University city was such a high and I have already booked entry for next year!
