Bid Proposal Manager

I’m a graduate in Business, Public Policy and Management from Aston University, in Birmingham, where I undertook a third-year business placement which took me to Madrid and Luxembourg, graduating with a BSc Hons.

I started my career as a Bid Co-ordinator at a tier one contractor working up to Assistant Bid Manager before moving on to Civic Engineers, after five years. Throughout my career I have always been keen to develop professionally and academically and as such I became Association for Project Management Certified, which I aim to progress further.

I have drive to bring equality, diversity and inclusion to the table, not only the construction and Engineering industry, but society. I’m the Chair of Manchester Building Equality Working Group, which comprises representatives from consultants, engineers, developers and contractors who are passionate about working together and harnessing their collective power to drive LGBT+ inclusion.

Building Equality is paving the way for an open and inclusive industry, which promotes discussion on equality and diversity, opening channels for issues and opportunities to be acted upon. Allowing all in the industry to be their true selves benefits everyone – not only to attract and retain the best talent but by providing access to a wide range of perspectives, encouraging creativity and improving performance.

I have been instrumental in organising Building Equality’s entries into London, Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester Prides, which you can see a snapshot from Manchester Pride 2018 below.
