A Civic Engineer in MIPIM

One of our London Directors, Gareth Atkinson is representing Civic Engineers at MIPIM for the first day. As part of the Manchester delegation, he attended the launch of the new Manchester pavilion last night for the official welcome and early evening drinks. This is the first time that Manchester have had a pavilion and judging by the twitter feedback and MIPIM chatter, the decision to invest in it was the right one. His evening then continued when he attended the Holistic ‘Go Dutch’ drinks reception and dinner which proved to be a worthwhile networking to meet some new contacts.

With MIPIM now officially open for business, the sun shining and day 1 fully underway, Gareth has spent his time between the London and Manchester stands, meeting familiar faces and getting a feel for the topics of the day which have included jobs, growth and partnerships. Now he’s off for lunch to discuss collaboration!

Don’t forget, our Founding Director Stephen O’Malley will be speaking in the Manchester Pavilion on Thursday, 16th March at 1630 (1530GMT) to discuss ‘Delivering Healthy Cities.’ The session will be moderated by Stephen Hodder MBE of hodder+partners and Stephen will be joined on the panel by Eamonn Boylan, Chief Executive, Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Frederic Segur, Director of Trees & Landscapes, Greater Lyon Authority.

Stephen will also be speaking on the Leeds City Region stand on Thursday morning at 1030 (0930 GMT) alongside a team from architects, Hawkins Brown, to discuss one our projects, Rutland Mills in Wakefield.
