Andrea McGee
Senior Civil Engineer
Hi. I am originally from Donegal in the north west of Ireland. I moved to the UK in 2007.
I completed my ONC and HNC at Bolton College and subsequently my BEng in Civil Engineering at Bolton Uni. I began my career as a Technician working on the Rivers and Coastal team. I was confined space trained and completed asset inspections for the EA. Following completion of my degree I developed experience in producing FRA’s and Drainage strategies.
I was introduced to Civic by an old colleague. She was enthusiastic about Civic’s strong focus on sustainability, diversity and general team focus and 3 months in I am yet to be disappointed!
I enjoy going home when I can to see family & friends. In particular, I support Gaelic Football and my county Team, Donegal. My most memorable moment was winning the All Ireland final in 2012 for the first time in 20 years and watching it on the on the big screen in my hometown. Since 2012 we have won 3 Ulster titles. If it wasn’t for Covid 19 I have faith that 2020 would have been our year too!!
I also enjoy going to gigs and festivals when I can, preferably festivals where the weather is a little more reliable.
