Hi I’m Zac, I am a Senior Civil Technician based in the Manchester Studio. I’ve been working in the industry since leaving secondary school in 2008, starting as an apprentice structural technician at Scott Wilson and studying for my ONC and HNC at Bolton Community College. In 2013 I joined WSP and made the decision to switch specialisation to highways and drainage. Since then I have worked for a number of consultancies around Manchester on a variety of projects covering a wide range of sectors.

I joined Civic in January 2021, as the company’s ethos around sustainable engineering really spoke to me, with such a variety of projects and a great team of people.

Outside of work I enjoy getting out to explore the amazing scenery in and around my new home Stoke-on-Trent.

Another passion of mine is reading. I try to pick a book up whenever I get a chance whether it be fantasy (Lord of the Rings being a particular favourite) or something that will further my knowledge, with an ever-expanding collection of books on historical engineering. This picture shows part of my collection with space to expand it in years to come.
