Architecture & Design Scotland, Place Challenge – Civic Engineers Contribution

Changing economic circumstances, competition and patterns of service provision are challenging the role of town centres as sustainable places.

Rethinking town centres as places to live is one possible future. But, how do we – working collaboratively – create town centres as living places that re-use existing spaces to deliver housing, opportunity and services in the right place for the most impact?

These were the issues discussed at our Place Challenge 2015: Town Centre Living. It took place 28-29 October 2015 in Arbroath, Angus, and we’ve just launched a Vimeo channel with a broad range of videos from the event; keynote speeches, interviews with speakers and interviews with contributors including our own Stephen O’Malley check it out here https://vimeo.com/149332034
