Andrew Ruck conquers epic Cycle to MIPIM

In the run up to MIPIM 2024, Andrew Ruck, director in our London studio, successfully completed the epic Club Peloton Knight Frank charity cycle to MIPIM, a monumental achievement.

The cycle started in London on 6th March and covered a staggering distance of more than 1300km in often challenging conditions. Andrew also had to contend with a wrist injury sustained on the second day of the journey, but successfully made it to the finish line in Cannes for MIPIM a week later, alongside more than 70 cyclists from the industry.

The ride has crucially raised funds for Club Peloton’s charity projects that are transforming young lives, such as Coram Adoption, Cyclists Fighting Cancer and Tom ap Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust. If you’d like to donate, please visit Andrew’s JustGiving page.

Reflecting on the epic achievement, Andrew said: “The thing that got me there was a combination of phenomenal organisation by Club Peloton, amazing mutual support and camaraderie from fellow riders, two tired legs, knowing we’re helping children who didn’t have the start in life we had, the messages of support each step of the way and a bucket full of painkillers and therapists who strapped me up each day.

“It’s going to take a while to recover and re-acclimatise to civilian life. And surgery may yet beckon. But It’s been the privilege of my life to travel the length of France on my bike. A country which I adore.

“It’s been gruelling, emotional, exhausting, painful, joyful, exhilarating, funny and life affirming, the list goes on. Thank you so much for the support from our sponsors Plan A, Darktrace and Bluebeam without whom I could not have attempted this journey.”

A Civic Engineers team, including our CEO Stephen O’Malley and director of communications and culture Katrina Davis, joined Andrew in attending MIPIM and sharing insights on how we can create an urban and natural environment that is fit for the future.
