Glasgow Studio Event

The end of last week saw the Glasgow Studio event take place at Brown’s Brasserie in the centre of Glasgow. The event was an opportunity to bring together clients, collaborators and our team so we could share news from across the Practice, and in particular talk about some of the projects we are working on across Scotland. Given the International Healthy Streets Summit, which we sponsored, also took place in Glasgow that week, it was great to be joined by delegates who had attended the two days to learn about best practice in healthy streets design and hear from pioneering cities such as Pontevedra and Vienna.

The theme for our event this year was the ‘art of engineering’ and Glasgow Director, Isla Jackson, spoke about the many meanings this may have and the importance we place on the ‘sketch’ as part of our engineer’s design process.

Founding Director, Stephen O’Malley then welcomed everyone and talked a little bit about what Healthy Streets Summit and the work Civic Engineers has been doing as part of the transformational Glasgow City Council Avenues project. All in all, it was a hugely enjoyable evening and a fantastic turnout with over 60 guests joining the team. Thanks to everyone who came!  Take a look at the photo gallery from the night Flickr Gallery
