International Women in Engineering Day – Making Safety Seen

Today we’re celebrating International Women in Engineering Day and this year’s theme of ‘Make Safety Seen’.

Recognising the incredible work our female engineers do every day here at Civic Engineers and their role in supporting people to lead happier, healthier lives, Women in Engineering Day provides a platform for us to not only celebrate their work, but to also encourage more young women and girls to take up rewarding careers in Engineering.

With this year’s theme for #INWED23 being ‘Make Safety Seen’, we asked two of our team to share their thoughts and insights on the role of safety across the practice, from both our repsonsibility to make sure our team are safe and supported across our Manchester, Leeds, London and Glasgow studios, and then looking at the role of designing with women and girls’ safety in mind, and why those design principles are important to the girls and women that live in and enjoy our spaces and places.

Thank you to Director, Leah Stuart and Regional Practice Manager, Jolie Molloy, for both their video contributions, which can find via the below links…
