Leah Stuart to chair NLA expert panel on safer cities

How can we improve women and gender diverse Londoner’s experiences of moving around the city?

On International Women’s Day, Friday 8th March, our director Leah Stuart will chair an NLA a panel of industry leaders that will explore initiatives that are improving people’s experience of moving around the city. The panel will discuss:

  • As our industry seeks to advocate for sustainable active travel, public transport, and the use of electric vehicles, and extoll the benefits of outdoor sport and proximity to nature, how are women’s safety concerns factoring into design and planning decisions?
  • How can our built environment industry work more strategically to ensure this approach is joined up across London?
  • What can we learn from initiatives that are improving women and gender diverse people’s experiences of navigating the city?

The panel will bring together industry experts Kate Peers, strategic lead for campaigns at Sport England; Beth Nash, security and operations manager at Fleet Street Quarter; and Clare Rogers, central London co-ordinator at London Cycling Campaign.
