London Studio Charity Quiz Night

Last night our London Studio held a Charity Quiz night in support of Director, Gareth Atkinson’s fundraising efforts following his recent Cycle to MIPIM achievements.

The quiz, which took place at The Barrel Project in Bermondsey, proved popular, with 17 teams taking part packing out the venue across both floors, a great mix of our clients and collaborators.

The evening kicked off at 7pm with an intro from Gareth, dressed in his cycling jersey and gold ‘quizmaster’ jacket! He talked about his recent experience on the Cycle to MIPIM and about the children’s charity Coram who the fundraising is for. Then it was down to quiz business (or quizness) with the first 2 rounds, which saw the competition levels increase and good banter between the teams! In the break between rounds, Claire Frances, one of our engineers showcased her impressive musical ability. Then it was eyes down and back to the questions for the always controversial music and architecture rounds!  More live music by guest musician, Bohdi, and Claire Frances, the raffle, prize giving and plenty of drinks and chat completed a great evening. And now you know that the only London tube station containing none of the letters in the word Mackerel is of course……….*

Congratulations to the winning team, who had the catchy name of “My name is Gareth and wearing polyester was a bad idea (MNIGAWPWABI).” They were the lucky recipients of some cycling gear,  a round of drinks, and the Civic Engineers Quiz Trophy! The recipients of the ‘lame duck’ were Team Cummings and they were apparently delighted to be presented with the sparkling rubber duck in recognition of their performance.

Thanks to everyone who came for their participation, support and generosity. An impressive £1068 was raised which will be added to Gareth’s total, taking it to over £5000!
