London Summer Event

4th July saw the annual London summer drinks take place at our riverside studio. For yet another year we were lucky with the weather, the sun shone and DJ Lawrence played the tunes for our guests, the majority of whom were our clients, collaborators and suppliers.

The theme of this year’s event was the ‘art of engineering’ with an emphasis on the importance of sketching. The London team, led by Jess Foster and Dominique Pitman, had expertly curated a gallery on the ground floor of the studio showcasing a variety of projects and the incredible sketches, drawings and models relating to them and illustrating the design process from start to finish. Projects featured included NLA award winning Quadrant Arcade, Exeter College, Oxford, Eltham College and our urban infrastructure work in Catford.

During the evening, Founding Director, Julian Broster welcomed everyone and gave an update on the practice as a whole, whilst Rob Westcott, London Director shared his personal reflection on what the ‘art of engineering ‘means to him and Gareth Atkinson, London Director talked about how the London Studio has grown and increasingly varied portfolio of projects it has.
