Eden Mill Distillery and Brewery, St Andrews
Our Glasgow team are appointed as Structural and Civil Engineer on this carbon-neutral Distillery project. The project involves the refurbishment of a listed paper mill at the mouth of the River Eden to house a new visitor centre and distillery, situated in the Eden Campus owned by the University of St Andrews.
Working alongside Opfer Logan architects and Alexander Project Management we have developed designs to create a feature entrance to the visitor centre, the existing structure within the mill will be strengthened and modified to accommodate the large distillation stills. New structure specified to the existing building includes a mezzanine storage area and stair/lift core, both designed in steel and concrete.
Eden Mill is discussing with the University the potential for capturing carbon from production processes which may be used to produce alternative fuels.
