Summer event round up!

From the future of our streets to reworking our office space and strengthening our culture in adversity; over the last few weeks, members of our team have had the opportunity to get involved and speak at various industry events and on podcasts about our work and what it’s like to be part of the Civic Engineers team.

We thought we would share the links to the event videos / podcasts here  so if anyone wanted to catch up on what we’ve been talking about, you could!

We love taking part in these industry events. It’s a great opportunity to talk about our work, our approach and why we believe our work in the built environment is crucial in helping us to protect our environment and shape healthier towns and cities. It’s also good to be able to talk alongside our clients, collaborators and industry experts. The more we can discuss and debate how we can improve our built environment through true collaboration, the better it will be.

Here’s a round of the events we’ve taken part in and the links to their video summaries;

New London Architecture – ‘Build Back Better’ – Reworking Office Space – Our London Associate Director, Keith Wilson was invited to take part in the PechaKucha to share his idea about how we should be retrofitting our buildings to be able to ‘bring the outside in’ which would enable more people to have access to green space at work. You can view the webinar here.

Place NW – Transport & Infrastructure – Our Co-Founding Director, Stephen O’Malley joined an experienced panel to discuss this crucial topic and how the current situation presents a once in a lifetime opportunity to make profound and lasting changes to the way our cities are designed, placing pedestrians and cyclists ahead of cars in the highway hierarchy. You can view the video here https://www.placenorthwest.co.uk/category/video/

Coaches on the Couch – Director, Leah Stuart and Technical Director, Andrew Ruck were invited to join coaches Rachel Birchmore and Louise Rodgers to discuss all aspects of leadership, values, culture, climate change and sustainable design! You can access their podcast alongside the others in this excellent series here https://uk.linkedin.com/company/coaches-on-the-couch
