Annabel Precious

Regional Director

I joined Civic Engineers in July 2021, bringing over 20 years’ experience in transport planning and civil engineering design consultancy.

During my experience of being a chartered civil engineer, I have worked on some really exciting projects, initially being part of the construction team that built the Tram link project in my hometown of Croydon, which ignited my interest in sustainable transport, and the opportunities this brings to local communities. I was also fortunate to work on the planning some of the large healthy new town projects. My biggest achievement to date is leading the team in the design and delivery of retrofitting cycle routes into the urban road network in Oxford. I have also led the design teams in the delivery of various public realm improvement schemes within town centre areas.

I like to approach my work with a ‘can-do’ attitude and am passionate about promoting use of sustainable travel for all ages, through the design and provision of appropriate infrastructure and environments to support us to move in the most sustainable way we can.

With a healthy ambition for a challenge, I really enjoy working with other professionals within the built environment profession to create design quality.

Outside work I am Mum to my two amazing children, who never cease to amaze me and teach me so much, our springer spaniel, who certainly likes to keep us on our toes. I am also enjoying renovating our lovely old Victorian house, although my husband does most of the hard work!
