Charlotte Taylor
Graduate Engineer
I recently graduated from the four year BEng Civil Engineering with Architecture course at the University of Glasgow. During my degree I thoroughly enjoyed studio time at the Glasgow School of Art, making scale models and working collaboratively across disciplines. I also developed a strong interest sustainability and designing for a more resilient future, something I’m keen to pursue joining Civic as a Civil Engineer. Here I am really excited to be working on projects in and around Glasgow with a very inspiring team of engineers!
After my first structural engineering internship in London, I became fascinated with construction, particularly traditional building methods. I travelled to Japan on a solo research project to learn about traditional construction methods there and Japanese carpentry. I worked on a bamboo farm and stayed with a master carpenter and visited old folk villages, all experiences which I learnt a lot from. After I graduated, this passion led me to do a very practical course at Glasgow City College called Women in Construction.
Outside of work I love exploring the Scottish landscapes and making music or mixes for my radio show.
