Gillian Neill
Senior Bid Co-ordinator
Hi I’m Gillian and, having worked in Chartered Surveying practices for the last 24 years, I decided to leave all of that behind and joined Civic Engineers as Senior Bid Coordinator in July 2024. Although it’s still very early days, I’m loving the energy and enthusiasm (and patience) of my colleagues, but particularly my those in the Bid Team, who have welcomed me and put up with my questions.
Having worked as a Survey Administrator at DM Hall for 2 years, I took on the role of Operations Manager for Surveyors Panel Management (a JV company owned by DM Hall and Graham + Sibbald) in September 2002. I was in that role for 15 years, before being made redundant in 2017, at which point, I accepted a role with Graham + Sibbald who allowed me to grow my knowledge and adapt my skills, particularly in the field of Tendering.
Now at Civic Engineers, I am hoping I build on the skills I have, becoming more aligned with the Civic values.
In my spare time, I have to admit to being just a bit obsessed with Take That. I constantly have their music playing, have a Take That tattoo, and go to see them live whenever I can. For instance, in 2024, I was lucky enough to see them in concert 7 times in Glasgow, Manchester, Sheffield and Middlesbrough. Although I didn’t make it to their European tour, I’m still hopeful for next time. I’ve met all the band individually over the years, having followed (some say “stalked”) them for 30 years. Long may my obsession continue.
