Graduate Engineer

I recently completed my studies at the University of Salford in 2021, where I attained a BEng in Civil Engineering and a MSc in Structural Engineering. Studying both Civils and Structures has provided me with a great understanding of a range disciplines. A highlight from my university experience is completing the Constructionarium course; this hands-on experience culminated skills that I had eclectically developed during my university education, providing me with an invaluable appreciation for the sector in which I would go on to build a career in.

I first became aware of Civic through an invitational site visit to the award-winning Burlington House, located by the Piccadilly marina. It was here that I realised that the values of the Civic charter aligned with my own; specifically, operating in a collaborative way, by engaging in thoughtful design not just to provide a function but to elevate and improve a landscape, from a sustainable and social standpoint. I have followed the company ever since, eventually joining the Manchester studio structures team in July 2021. I feel honoured to have had the opportunity to work on some incredible projects, that brilliantly personify the values that are so integral to the company’s image.

In my free time, I am a huge football fan, supporting the best team in the world – Manchester City! As a fan, I am proud of the work and development that they have done in the Eastlands community, which I cannot help but draw some parallels with the values of Civic. As well as football, I enjoy fitness and nutrition, where recently I have tried my hand at cooking some tasty but healthy meals. I also love music and going to gigs and festivals – my absolute dream is to got to Burning Man Festival in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada. I also love travelling, with my favourite place to-date, being Croatia; I love the culture, people and landscape – particularly the Krka National Park and their famous waterfalls.
