I’m a senior engineer with 9 years of experience in the construction industry. Before joining Civic I worked for three years for the NGO, Bridges to Prosperity building cable suspended bridges in rural communities in East Africa. Prior to this I worked as a structural engineer for Elliott Wood and Alan Baxter becoming a chartered Civil Engineer in 2016. I like to find innovative ways to solve problems and continue to extend my knowledge of engineering whenever I can.
Other than work I enjoy exploring different places whether in the UK or abroad. I really love the outdoors, good food and meeting up with friends. I used to be quite into my cold swimming before going to East Africa and looking forward to getting back into it!
Below is the Kama Bridge built in the foothills of Mount Elgon in East Uganda. It was the first bridge that we built in Uganda. I worked on site nearly every day during the three month construction. On completion it showed me the power of infrastructure in rural communities.
