James Fawcett
Associate Director
I’m a civil engineer who has had the privilege to work on a wide variety of exciting projects during a career spanning over 21 years.
I had an indirect route into the industry, after initially studying Music Technology to combine my passion for music and engineering I then started an apprenticeship at a highways and transportation consultancy from where I went back to university to study civil engineering.
The early years of my career were focussed on traffic and transportation following which I transferred into the detailed design of highways and have never looked back. My areas of expertise include the design of public realm, flood risk and drainage, earthworks and plot design. This combined with project experience including tall buildings, logistics, residential and trunk road junction design for both public and private sector clients means I that I like to think that I bring a unique skillset to the projects that I work on.
Outside of work my young family keep me very busy and I tend to spend my spare time taxiing my children to various activities. Whenever possible my wife and I enjoy dragging our 2 children (not always kicking and screaming!) for walks in the countryside near where we live, and which gives me a nice view to look out over when working at home.
