Jen Oliver
Senior Structural Engineer
In 2018 I graduated from the University of Leeds with a Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering. From there I worked as a graduate engineer at Cundall where I built up my experience on a range of projects, from a hotel to steel manufacturing facilities. I am currently working in the Structures team in Manchester. Being Manchester born & bred it is exciting to watch the everchanging skyline as the city develops. I currently sit as Chair of the IStructE Lancashire & Cheshire Young Members Group. As a group we meet regularly to discuss and plan upcoming events for the students and graduates of the region. Outside of work I enjoy strength training, cycling, boxing – anything to get me moving! I like to mix it up and often try out something new. I love to read, (albeit guilty of stocking up on more books than I can physically find time to get through)!
Like many, I love to travel and experience new places. I have been lucky enough to visit New York twice. It is difficult to remain uninspired by the immense structures – I know I spent most of my time there looking upwards. Below are some photographs I snapped on my travels of The Vessel in Manhattan.
