Liz Diaz
Transport Design Engineer
Hola! I am a Paraguayan Civil Engineer with a couple of years of professional experience living in London since November 2020. I’ve been awarded a national scholarship to study an MSc in Urban Development Planning at the University College London (UCL), where I graduated in 2021.
During the course, I was granted a fellowship with the InterAmerican Development Bank (IDB) under the broad topic of “Transport and Social Exclusion”. It was an excellent experience to combine my interest in human behaviour, urban studies, and quantitative analysis to explore how social exclusion influences women’s opting for transportation in Bogota and Mexico. Overall, the course was a great challenge and gave me a holistic set of skills that I was eager to apply.
With a growing willingness to collaborate in the planning process for more socially just development in cities, I joined Civic Engineers in September of 2021. I was impressed with the company’s commitment to delivering city infrastructure, placing a strong emphasis on urban regeneration, sustainability, and creating places that positively impact the environment.
As a very tireless person, among my hobbies and activities you can find DANCING, volunteering, cooking (a lot of Paraguayan solid soup), going to the movies (especially to superheroes ones), reading, football, cycling (a picture of “The Dutchess” on the way to the studio below), long walks, travel and photography. I am also a passionate dog lover, the ultimate plant mom and pretty much the smiler.
