Ross Campbell
Civil Design Engineer
I started off my career through an apprenticeship at a large engineering consultancy in 2013. Whilst working I went on to gain my HND in Civil Engineering, before onto university where I completed my BSc (Hons) and finally an MSc in Civil Engineering at Strathclyde University. Throughout this time, I progressed through roles as an apprentice, design technician and graduate engineer, with my experience primarily being gained in the wastewater sector.
I made the move to Civic in May of 2022 after being drawn to the wide variety of work undertaken and the values held by the company. I’ve been gaining experience in a number of new disciplines through involvement in residential, development infrastructure and public realm projects. Each present different challenges and I’m enjoying the process of developing my knowledge and designing abilities in these sectors. The focus on sustainable and innovative design is what attracted me to the company and is an aspect of the work that I thoroughly enjoy.
Outside of work I enjoy exercising and getting outdoors, whether that’s running, cycling, hill walking or in the gym. As much as I’m not naturally an early riser, starting in the dark and getting to the top of a hill for the sun coming up can feel worth it sometimes.
