My route into engineering was an unusual one, initially electing to do a degree in Mathematics after school. It was my time working with the engineering academics of University College London that ignited a fascination with engineering design and I haven’t looked backed since. I gave up my job at UCL to study Civil Engineering.
On completing my studies I started my engineering career with Alan Baxter and Associates where I developed my knowledge of structural engineering and drawing skills. I am a passionate believer of communicating ideas through freehand sketching and drawing. In 2014 I became a chartered member of the Institution of Structural Engineers.
As well as working on projects for others, I have carried out a full refurbishment of my own flat in the East End of London, working with a local contractor to convert a tired one bedroom flat into an open-plan two bedroom city apartment.
I am a lover of London and enjoy walking and cycling through the capital taking in the wide range of buildings and spaces that make up the city.
Living and working is London, I find my bicycle is an essential piece of kit to get around and I use it as much as I can. I use it to get to and from the studio, cycle to meetings and even take my eldest son to school on it. To me it means freedom to move around the city on my own terms and helps me stay fit as well.
