Hi, I joined Civic Engineers in 2023 after graduating from Abertay University in Dundee with a MEng in Civil and Environmental Engineering.

I started my career in engineering by completing a NC and HND at college before moving to university, and in this time developed an interest in how engineers can influence greater quality of life for people by enhancing the communities they live and work in.

During my studies at Abertay I gained two years’ experience working in the trunk road management and maintenance industry, covering the North West Scotland region as a student engineer in the pavement investigation team and then scheme delivery team, and used experience from this to help develop my dissertation, which focused on the potential for reclaimed demolition waste to be used in new pavement constructions.

I was drawn to Civic as I felt the company shared the same ethos and aspirations as I do – to make the cities around us a more sustainable and happier places to live.
