Hi, I’m Tegen and I’ve joined the Civic Engineers Leeds team after working for 3 years at BuroHappold. I graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2018 from the Structural Engineering and Architecture course, and grew up in Bristol.

I’ve worked on some large scale projects such as The Factory, Manchester, & Everton FC, however the majority of my experience has been on stacked steel framed large scale Leisure Centres in London – Britannia & Woolwich. Both buildings had complex vibration requirements and were challenging yet rewarding to design!

I am passionate about the structural engineering role in reducing embodied carbon in buildings, and am keen to increase my knowledge of timber design, as well as working towards lower carbon concrete and steel.

Outside of work I’m either outside in the Peaks/Dales/Lakes – walking, swimming, camping, climbing, cycling – or inside sewing and knitting. Over the past year I’ve become more interested in self made clothes and aim to have a fully ‘me-made’ wardrobe and buy no more new clothes!
