A promotion & new Associate as Glasgow Studio celebrates 3 years!

The Civic Engineers Glasgow Studio celebrates its 3rd year in business this week as its profile and work continues to grow in the city and across Scotland. The now 15 strong team, led by our Glasgow Directors Isla Jackson and Iain McIntyre, delivers on structural and civil engineering projects in Scotland including Glasgow Avenues, Sentinel Building refurbishment, Netherton Sq part of AMIDS and across the UK, collaborating with the other Civic Engineers studios in Leeds, Manchester and London.

As well as celebrating their 3rd year, it has been announced that Craig Turner, who has been with the Practice for nearly two years has been promoted to Associate and gained his SER certification. This enables him to certify the structural engineering design of buildings in Scotland. James Travers has also joined the team as an Associate on the civil engineering side of the business. He joins from Lovells and has significant experience in residential design. He was keen to join Civic Engineers because of the focus on climate resilience and on ensuring green infrastructure design is an integral part of projects.  Glasgow Studio Director, Isla Jackson, commented, “It is great to be able to celebrate our 3 years of the Civic Engineers Glasgow Studio and also announce James’ appointment, as well as Craig’s promotion and fantastic achievement gaining his SER accreditation. This gives us additional resilience within the team as there are now 2 of us who are SER accredited. Over the past 3 years, the team has grown, as has our presence and profile across Scotland. Our structural portfolio including projects such as Eden Mill Distillery continues to grow. We have also been appointed to some fantastic projects, such as Glasgow Avenues and Making Places Woodside that will help our towns and cities become more climate resilient, healthier, more connected, attractive places for everyone.”
