Helping to build an inclusive construction industry
Building a diverse workforce and having a fair, inclusive culture is indispensable in the modern world. Diversity helps teams be more creative, have better ideas and be more ingenious – all values that are at the heart of Civic Engineers.
We’re proud to be a member of Building Equality Manchester. Building Equality is an alliance of construction organisations and professionals working together to drive LGBT+ inclusion in the construction sector. Over the past five years they have grown substantially by expanding their reach from London into regional hubs in Leeds and Manchester and Chair of Building Equality Manchester is Civic Engineer’s very own Bid Proposal Manager, Luke Ives.
Thursday, 21st February will see Building Equality Manchester hold an event which will explore cross-industry collaboration as a basis for building equality, diversity and inclusion and recognise some of the organisations and individuals who are making outstanding contributions to this cause. Speakers will include Carl Austin-Bevan, LGBT Advisor to Mayor of Greater Manchester, Sean Anstee CBE, CEO, Telcom Infrastructure and Amanda McKay, Quality Director at Balfour Beatty.
The event is free to attend and takes place at WSP, 1st Floor, 8 First St M15 4RP from 6pm.
