Park Hill Phase 2

We’re excited to be working as civil, structural and transport Engineers on Phase 2 of the iconic Urban Splash, Park Hill development in Sheffield.

Recently listed in the ‘The Times’ coolest places to live, the completion of phase 1 saw 260 homes and 10 workspaces built and there is now a 600 strong community living and working there.

Plans for Phase 2, developed by Mikhail Riches Architects, which are now in for planning, will build on the experiences from Phase 1. The residential element will see the addition of townhouses and more commercial space will be available. Overall, there will be subtle differences in look and feel and some interesting ideas have been put forward for refurbishing the well-known ‘streets in the sky.’ More of the existing structures will be retained and significant parts of the external brick paneling will remain. The public realm will be further enhanced with works to South St and the Courtyard and there will be more landscaping and seating areas.

Our Director, Julian Broster, who is working on the project said:

“Park Hill is a fantastic, iconic project to work on. For us, it’s ideal as it enables us to use our full range of skills and expertise across civil, structural and transport engineering. Park Hill is a great example of the successful creation of a place where people want to live and work. The popularity of Phase 1 and the accolades the development has received clearly demonstrate that this is the case. We are thrilled to be part of Phase 2.”
