This new build student residential scheme is made up of 2 towers, 12 and 14 storeys respectively. Designed by Leeds based architects Fuse, the striking building in the heart of Coventry will provide 496 studios with a ‘hub space’ and an external courtyard, 300m from Coventry railway station.
Vita are considered high-spec student living, with bigger than average student bedrooms and high spec amenities. This development includes a private gym and a hub social space across the ground, first and second floors. The development is part of the Friargate Masterplan, which forms a crucial part of the regeneration to this part of Coventry’s city centre and proposes over 3 million square feet of new development.
We are acting as Civil and Structural engineers on this project and working alongside Fuse Architects and Faithful and Gould (Project Managers). Bowmer and Kirkland (contractors) were involved from stage 3.
The site contained 3 separate existing low-rise buildings, two Victorian villas and a 1960s concrete office block. We do not anticipate any significant obstructions and relatively good founding material for the new buildings. Construction started in May 2021, with the aim to complete for July 2023 in time for the start of the academic year.
