Appointed to the British Museum Framework

Civic Engineers has been successfully placed on the construction consultancy services framework for the British Museum.

The framework replaces a series of multi-lot frameworks covering multiple disciplines – project management, quantity surveying, M&E and fire engineering, architecture and interior design and structural and civil engineering.

The structural and civil engineering component is focussed on upgrades to its existing building stock. Works are expected to consist of strategic and technical studies or reviews, light touch refurbishments and heavier refurbishments, restorations and renewals.

Architects included on the framework include Dannatt Johnson, Avanti, Nex Architecture and Wright & Wright Architects who are involved with the Lambeth Palace Library & Archive. A major building programme for the institution in the past two decades included Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners’ £135m extension.
