This development provides approx 13,000m2 of warehousing / office blocks for mixed use that offer the flexibility to construct Research & Development, Light Industrial, General Industrial and Storage & Distribution spaces. It also includes external service yards, car parking and landscaping. The £9.5m project, on which we are structural and civil engineers for contractor GMI, is due for completion in September 2018.

The structures will consist of steel portal frames with two units incorporating suspended mezzanine floors capable of supporting warehouse loading for bespoke racking systems. Due to the sloping nature of the site some of the accommodation will be provided with semi-basements. The site is adjacent to the existing railway line into Harrogate. This has implications as it will impose constraints, particularly on the construction works and these will need to be considered within the design.
